YCN takes live game coverage on the road with local schools

Folks, we pulled off our first online radio broadcast (www.YCNSports.com) last weekend at the Huntley Project vs Colstrip football game.  We got a good amount of feedback about our broadcast and being able to provide this online radio sports broadcast to the masses for local sports.  We could not do it without the support of the listeners, fans, business and sponsors that see this as a valuable service to the masses in our local area.

In fact, we had some listeners (using their mobile devices) at the football game who were also listening to our broadcast.  We had listeners who were at the Shepherd football game also listening to our online radio broadcast while attending the Shepherd football game.  In  fact, ee also had listeners from other areas in the conference listening to the game as they are following current action and each game.

Thank you to all those who texted game updates to the Yellowstone County News during our Huntley Project football game broadcast as many others are wanting to get current updates from around the state and conference.

This week, we will be broadcasting the Shepherd vs Malta football game.  The radio station in Malta KMMR will be broadcasting the game on the air plus all of our folks here locally that will be listening to it.  If you are at other games in the area, feel free to text score updates to 406-672-5941.

For those who are just learning of this new online radio stream broadcast, all you have to do is go to www.YCNSports.com and click on the play button. We will start the pregame show about 6:30pm this Friday evening.  Whether you use your computer, phone, tablet, or electronic device, check us out and spread the news about our new added feature through the Yellwostone County News.

Ok, now for other news and updates, we’ll be publishing the school pages for Lockwood in next week’s edition.  This is history in the making as Lockwood has never had a high school, nor school newspaper.  I remember when the topic of a Lockwood school newspaper was brought up a couple years ago, I smothered the idea and said that unless Lockwood expanded into a high school that it would not be happening until then.  Well folks, that day has come.  We are still looking for some advertisers to help support the school pages whether it be Lockwood, Senior or West High schools.  Give us a call if you are interested as it’s the local businesses that help publish the school pages weekly by advertising their business along the school pages each week. We at YCN would not be able to publish the school pages without your help and support.

I’ll wait until next week to see if we have some more good news to announce to the masses.  If not next week, we’re looking to never other options to provide to the masses.

With the release of our news of YCN Sportscast, can you see more of the tip of the iceberg?

Until then, see you in the paper,

JDM
