Wolf in “sheep’s” column

Dear Editor,

I have read Carl Wolf’s column for the last time (Dec 21 issue).  For me, the last straw was his statement “Appears semi-Americans (Republicans) upset because politics included in an outdoors column”.  Surprisingly, he is still confused about what is being criticized or applauded in his column.  I wouldn’t be upset with politics appearing in an outdoors column if it were labeled as such.  The issue of Dec. 14 had exactly one paragraph concerning the outdoors.  The remainder of the column was political opinion.  Mr. Wolf has the right to say exactly what he pleases, and I will defend his right to do so even though I completely disagree with his politics.  But please be honest about the column and identify it for what it is, a political opinion column with an outdoors aspect.   Labeling it an outdoors column and then filling it with 80-90% political opinion is just dishonest.  Please title it “Outdoors and Political Opinion” or something similar.  Better yet, put headings for the outdoors section and the politics section.  I did enjoy reading the outdoors sections but got tired of wading through the politics to find it.
