We are excited to announce one of a couple projects we are jumping into heads first this year. Our first one is our 1stannual Best of Yellowstone County Awards! It’s our first time ever to do a reader’s choice of the best businesses, services and products offered in Yellowstone County for readers of our newspaper, whether you are a subscriber or pick up the paper over the counter or at newsstands through our coverage area, we want to hear from you!
There are a number of reasons for doing the Best of Yellowstone County Awards.
First, it’s an opportunity for our readers to honor the people, businesses and entities that are deserving of the awards.
Secondly, it encourages competitors to up their game in providing a better service or product to those they serve and live among.
Third, its gives our readers another voice to express what they think is best. We know our readers have a good feel for what’s currently going on locally so why not express it in your choices you select?
Fourth, we are a hyper-local weekly newspaper, what better way to be involved in the community? There are 40 categories to choose so ready, set, Go!
This Best of Yellowstone County Awards will start in the 2/8/19 edition and the last day to submit your ballots will be Wednesday March 13. So essentially, our subscribers and readers will have 5 weeks to make your voice heard. This year, you can only use a ballot that was printed in the Yellowstone County News. No copies. A ballot will be published in each week’s paper. You can only use the ballots printed in the paper, not copies allowed.
There will be 19 locations throughout Yellowstone County where a ballot box will be available to drop your ballots or you can send your ballots to Yellowstone County News at P.O. Box 130, Huntley, MT, 59037.
The 19 Ballot Boxes are located at Project Merc in Worden, Tiger Town in Ballantine, Sure Stop Gas station in Custer, Yellowstone County News in Huntley, 5 Corners gas station in Shepherd, Acton Express in Shepherd, Ace Hardware in Lockwood, Lockwood IGA, Heights Blue Basket, All 3 Shipton’s stores, Stellas Kitchen & Bakery downtown, Yellowstone County Courthouse lobby, Muzzleloader, Cenex Zip Trip at Grand & Rehberg, Holiday Gas station off Zoo Drive, and Zip Trip gas station on Wicks & Main.
As we have 60 locations within Yellowstone County where our newspaper can be purchased over the counter, etc, so we wanted to pick a number of locations where it would be easy to find our ballot boxes so we hope you will use them in supporting the best business, individual, product and service in our 1stBest of Yellowstone County Awards edition.
Another thing that will be announced at the end of the event will be the Best of Yellowstone County, Editor’s Choice Award either for an individual, and/or entity that deserves recognition for their contribution to society and it can be in any form so if you have any ideas, please let me know by stopping by our office or by calling me on my cell phone at 672-5941.
-All of this and more allows our weekly local newspaper to up our game in becoming more of a resource for our readers and another way to help us be involved in the community and actively solicit your feedback for even more positive things as well as getting our fiscal message out to the masses in Yellowstone County and beyond. Good luck to all!
Until then, See you in the paper!
