Voting deadline for the 2 Shepherd School Bonds fast approaching

With a new vote on the Shepherd School Bond levy around the corner, much has been done to meet the needs of naysayers, and the overall response has been positive. Ballots will be mailed out this Friday and will be available at the Yellowstone County Election Office on 27th Street in Billings.  The vote will be final on September 10th at 8pm. Voters should be aware that the ballot will show two separate bonds and each must be approved for the plan to move forward. This is because the high school and the elementary school are technically two separate schools.

“We heard you, it was too expensive,“ says architect Jeff Kanning, who has been providing free consultation on the project. Common ground has been achieved with a 39% reduction in the initial cost, bringing the price down by a whopping six million. The bulk of this financial reduction was achieved by switching from on-site stick build to metal pre-fab and reducing overall square footage. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

  1. Shaving six million off of a bond like that sounds like a chore, great job! Shepherd is blessed to have such a dedicated team pushing for the betterment of their youth! Especially, with all those crazies doing best to ruin the bond chances of success. Hope it passes!
