Dear Editor:

On Oct. 12, Montana absentee ballots will be sent out. More and more voters have been voting absentee. It is important for the voters to have truthful information on the voting records of political candidates. How did Sen. Tester vote on these bills that are important to Montanans?

Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Act.(H.R. 36) (Roll call 268, 09/22/2015) The bill contains substantial new protections for infants born alive during abortions. It would generally prohibit abortion after 22 weeks of pregnancy. Tester voted no. Bill failed.

Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act.Tester voted against blocking for one year roughly 89 percent of all federal funds to Planned Parenthood, and repealing some revisions of Obamacare, including the penalties for the employer and individual mandates. (H.R. 3762) (Roll call 329, 12/03/2015)

A-Plus Amendment.(S.Amdt. 2110 to S.Amdt. 2089 to S. 1177) (Roll call 226, 07/09/2015) Tester voted against restoring state and local control over the portion of their education funding that comes from the federal government and use them for any lawful education benefit they deem beneficial.

On each of these votes, Jon Tester sided with Bernie Sanders, Chuck Schumer and Diane Feinstein against Montana values.
