The United States was founded some 250 years ago by very responsible men and women. The requirement of an individual citizen’s responsible actions needs to continue. With Democrats blanket mailing ballots to every one living in Democratically controlled areas, then following the mailings with “enforcers” to make sure all those receiving ballots voted correctly (whether they wanted to or not) is what I would call politically responsible – not individually responsible.
We probably need to add a rule or three for Federal elections. Before sending out ballots, electors need to verify that the recipients really want to vote (i.e. requested a ballot). Then the electors need to verify each recipient is a U.S. citizen (after all it is a Federal election, electing people to represent us in Washington, D.C.) Lastly ballots would need to be received in the election office by midnight the day of the election – either mailed in or the person voted in person – for the ballot to be counted. Only U.S. citizens votes count. This would be an election by responsible individuals.
