The Moscow Project, Trump, Putin, and political investment

Dear Editor,

In answer to Mr. Deans question in the YCN March 22, 2019 issue, “Why would Vladimir Putin want Trump to become President of the US in 2016?

Well, according to what I researched online from multiple nonbiased sources, there are actually some pretty big reasons.

“The Moscow Project”, an invisaged venture by Donald Trump with the Soviet Union’s tourism agency, Goscom Intourist in 1987.  The Trump organization signed a one year contract for a construction project in 2005 with the Bayrock Group real estate firm.  One of the firm’s principals was Felix Sater, a Russian born bussinessman with mob connections.  After holding the Miss Universe pageant in Russia in 2013, Trump tweeted “Trump-Tower Moscow is next”.

The planned Trump Tower would be the tallest skyscraper in Europe; the proposed site was near the Moscow River,in the Moscow International Business Center.

Then, according  to Sater, there was the possibility of giving a $50 million dollar penthouse in the tower to Russian President Vladimir Putin.  The proposal was dropped in June 2016 due to news reports of Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee, making a Russian business connection into a political liability.

“It appears that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 US Presidential election with the goal of harming the campaign of Hillary Clinton, boosting the candidacy of Donald Trump and increasing political discord in the United States.”

The 45th President of the United States is worth $3.1 billion as of 2018, according to Forbes.

1 Timothy 6:10, The Holy Bible, “For the love of money is the root of all evil.”

Getting through huge political and economical entanglements, Montana’s Senator Jon Tester secured a Senate vote on a public lands package that includes two of his landmark pieces of legislation; The Yellowstone Gateway Protection Act and a bill to permanately reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

Thank you for riding the bucking bulls, Senator Tester, and for avoiding the bulls**t better than most.
