Well, Folks, this is going to basically be our Christmas edition of our paper as we are going to press before Christmas, but some of our readers will get this paper the day after Christmas because Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall in the middle of the week. This edition will also be our last published edition of YCN for this year 12/27/19 as next year’s first publication will be our 1/3/20 edition.
We are also publishing the Year in Review edition of our paper as we had so much that we covered this year for YCN that we figured we’d better get started in reviewing the many things we accomplished, started and reported on this year.
As many of you know, we’ve been trying to make sure our county weekly newspaper is covering the important things and stories that affect our county and communities as we are YOUR hyper-local weekly newspaper, hence our tag line, “Weekly News, Local Views”. As we are a fiscal newspaper, it is my hope that we will continue to focus on things and stories that matter to you, the taxpayer and reader most this next year.
We’d also like to welcome two more law firms that have started using our county publication for the first time for legal notices recently. We are grateful for those who see where this newspaper is going and the product we are trying to produce that is easily accessible, trustworthy, focused on our Yellowstone County area and local high schools.
Now, it’s this time of year that we get to gather with family and friends and spend time reviewing the reason for the season. It’s also the time of year when I get to think about New Year’s resolutions whether it be for myself personally, for the newspaper or in general.
I will review those New Year’s Resolutions in our next week’s edition as well as announce a couple things that we also accomplished this last year. I was just looking over the events, special editions of our paper and benchmarks we accomplished this year but other accomplishments won’t be official until the end of the year so I’ll wait for our first edition of 2020 to announce that to the masses. (No sense in counting your chicks until after they hatch.) We, at YCN, want to THANK YOU, the readers, advertisers, and supporters for helping make the Yellowstone County News the Official publication for the City of Billings, Official Publication of Record for Yellowstone County and YOUR Official publication of choice for hyper-local weekly news with local views.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year,
See you in the paper…. Next Year!
