Dear Editor,
I wanted to write and express my gratitude to Jonathan and the many other individuals and businesses that hosted Dig It Days 2022. We have a large family and are always on the lookout for fun, affordable, and local adventures to share with our kids. I honestly didn’t know what to expect when we arrived at Dig It Days this past Saturday, but it ended up being the highlight of our summer, especially for my sons!
Unlike previous expensive and disturbing experiences at the Fair, Dig It Days was CLEAN, open, inviting, safe, and FREE! Everyone we met was cheerful and excited. We were greeted with free t-shirts, hats, toys, candy, prizes, etc.! It was so refreshing to see kids, lots and lots of kids, playing in the dirt! Watching my own kids operate those giant excavators, digging holes deep enough to drop a car in, with huge smiles on their faces, just made my heart soar! The Operators giving their time and talent to all those kids (and adults) by showing them how to safely operate all that heavy equipment, have my respect and admiration.
Each and every one was professional, safe, courteous, and FUN. A rare thing these days. There was a helicopter landing, excavator competitions, remotely operated Skid Steers, and so many new friends to meet! We stayed all afternoon and got dirty from head to toe!
Thanks for such a treat. I’m looking forward to Dig It Days 2023!
