Roy and Carol Wood of Springdale, MT, have bought South Shepherd Storage from Frank and Laurie Ewalt. With only three available units and two RV parking spots open, the Woods have excitedly taken on an established business that they hope to grow into something they can pass on to their kids.
The 183-unit storage facility was built around 20 years ago but barely shows a day of wear. The Woods say they are lucky to have bought the place from owners who obviously cared about the facilities. Carol and Roy are both new to the industry but already have plans to increase the efficiency of operations. Updates to the South Shepherd Storage website, specifically an online bill pay feature, are already underway and should save tenants and managers time alike. The Ewalts are excited for what the future brings now that they have sold South Shepherd Storage. In an interview Frank stated, “Time flew so fast it is hard to believe we started on this journey 20 years ago.” The Ewalts, especially excited for a stress-free holiday season, are thankful for the opportunity to travel to see their grandkids across three states and the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering with groups like the Yellowstone River Parks Association.
