Six Applications Received for Elections Administrator

by Evelyn Pyburn

Yellowstone County Commissioners have received six applications for the open position of County Elections Administrator, a vacancy created with the resignation of Bret Rutherford who has served in the position for over 16 years. Several of the applicants were from out of state.

Commissioners each selected what they believe to be the top two candidates, on Tuesday. They will conduct Zoom interviews with those candidates towards the end of the week, from which they will choose the top two or three candidates to interview in person.

The new elections administrator may not be on the job by Election Day, November 8, but who it will be, will be known.

Rutherford’s last day will be this week, October 7.
