Shooting Victim’s Mother Asks for Help after Large Huntley Party

A concerned mother is asking for the public’s help in locating the gunman from a large party that took place near the Pryor Creek Golf Course Saturday night that resulted in her 20-year-old daughter being shot.  Tammy Zwetzig, of Columbus, told the Yellowstone County News that they are asking for the public’s help in locating and “catch this guy” who discharged 10 rounds of a 9mm gun at the party at the location of RipRap Road. “Who takes a gun to a party?” she asked, “Especially with that many people?”

Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder emailed a press release Monday afternoon in regards to the shooting incident.

On Saturday, 2-29-20, at approximately 12:40 AM, deputies were dispatched to a loud party in the area of Rip Rap Road, near Huntley. Deputies were initially informed that the complainant estimated approximately 150 people were partying at the residence and surrounding area. When deputies, as well as MHP (Montana Highway Patrol) Troopers arrived in the area, it was determined that there were probably twice the number of people at the party than originally reported. There was also a complaint that vehicles were being parked on property, which belongs to the golf course.

Deputies noted that while it appeared that the attendees were adults, some individuals ran from the area when deputies arrived.

Deputies did contact the party organizer and advised him of the complaint. He said he would have the cars moved. They also agreed to start shutting down the party.

While at this scene, deputies were contacted by dispatch and were told that an individual with a gunshot wound had just been admitted to a local hospital. The shooting victim stated that the shooting occurred at a bon-fire party near Huntley.

No arrests have been made as of press time Wednesday evening, but several people had been interviewed and deputies and detectives were following up on leads and other information they have, but no arrest have been made.

Zwetzig was informed by her daughter of the gunshot wounds to her breasts as she had driven herself to the hospital.  The victim was given a ride to her car, and then she took herself to the hospital once she noticed how much blood she was losing.
