Montana Highway Patrol responded to a call to the Shepherd Post Office Wednesday evening to find the Post Office’s drop box demolished by a Jeep Cherokee in the process. A call came into the MHP office at 10:15 pm, June 2 to the 5450 Carey address in Shepherd where Troop Moran responded to the non-injury crash resulting in an adult female driver that was processed for a DUI charge, according to Sargent Kyle Hater of the Montana Highway Patrol Billings Division.
Local residents can still go inside the lobby at the Shepherd Post Office and drop their letters and packages in the lobby drop box that is open 24/7. A new drop box is in the process of being repaired and will be back up in the next week or two.
