Raul Sanchez, 75, passed away April 16, 2019 at his home in Lockwood where he was cared for consistently by his loving wife, Pam, beloved daughter, Gabrielle, and the light of his life, grand-daughter Nevaeh.
He was born in Billings on March 25, 1944 to Ysmael and Librada (Garcia) Sanchez. Raul was the oldest of eight brothers and two sisters. He grew up in Lockwood attending Lockwood School and graduating from Billings Senior High in 1962. Raul served eight years combined in the United States Army and National Guard as a tank commander. He spent his career, of 52 years, working for Yellowstone Paper Co as a salesman. Raul married his life partner, Pam Flowers, on July 26, 1986.
Raul was a founding father of competitive pool in Billings and enjoyed playing league the majority of his life. He was an avid fisherman and even had the opportunity to fish the Pro/Am Walleye tournament at Fort Peck. He had a long career racing stock cars and being a flagman at Belaro (Yellowstone) speedway. He also enjoyed bowling, softball, and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ysmael and Librada, brother, David, sister, Linda Ruzick and granddaughter Teddy Ontiveros. Raul is survived by wife Pam, brothers: Jesse (Juanita), Izzy (Belin), Raymond (Jan), Dan (Kim), Adam, Toni, sister: Brenda (Toby) Kline, children: Gabrielle (Chris) Walker, Carlos, Gina (Travus) Frost, Raul (Heidi), Rick (Tina) Ontiveros, Chris (Judy), Laurie (John) Walsh, Tina (Mike) Milam, and too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to name.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday April 27, 2019, 11 am at the VFW Post #1634 at 4242 State Ave, Billings MT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: VFW Post #1634 or St. John’s Foundation/Senior Independence-3940 Rimrock Road, Billings, MT 59102.
