Pence touches down in Billings

Vice President Mike Pence touched down aboard Air Force Two in Billings
on Wednesday with Sen. Steve Daines and Rep. Greg Gianforte to discuss the rampant meth problem that has been ravaging Montana for years. They quickly met with people at the airport, including State Auditor Matt Rosendale, before they headed off in a motorcade for Pence’s first scheduled stop. His schedule for his day long stay in the Magic City included meeting with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Yellowstone Substance Abuse Coalition at RiverStone Health to learn about the efforts to get the meth problem under control. After this Pence was scheduled to visit the Willow Way group home to meet addicts and get a firsthand view of the effects meth has had on the community and attend a political event for Daines, according to the Office of the Vice President. His wife, Second Lady Karen Pence, was also scheduled to attend an event with military wives in Billings. The Pence’s also visited Yellowstone National Park on Thursday to meet with Interior Secretary David Bernhardt and employees of the National Park Service and the Forest Service about rebuilding the infrastructure in National Parks.
