Scott Allen Peterson, born October 13, 1957, in Billings, Montana, to Harold and Joan Peterson, passed away on December 19, 2024, at his home in Billings.
Scott grew up on his family’s farm in Bridger, Montana. He graduated from Bridger High School and attended Vo-Tech in Butte, Montana. Scott was a very talented woodworker creating shelves, cabinets and wooden chests. He was also a gifted artist, drawing silly characters and amazing landscapes. Scott found joy in tinkering with motorcycles and other vehicles, which became his true passion.
As a lifelong enthusiast, Scott found joy in the thrill of riding his dirt bike and the competitive spirit of motorcycle hill climbs. He later shared his love for riding with his son, Travis, enjoying adventures around Billings, Shepherd, and beyond. His adventures included conquering the Beartooth Pass, exploring the South Hills of Billings, and trail riding in Shepherd Ah Nei. In retirement, he still embraced the open road, exploring the beauty of Montana on his motorcycles.
Scott cherished his dog, Lincoln, and enjoyed taking him for walks around the neighborhood. They were the best of companions and went everywhere together.
Scott is survived by his mother, Joanie; Patty Peterson and their son, Travis; and his grandson, Riley.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Curt, his father, Harold, and his beloved dog, Lincoln.
In lieu of formal funeral services, the family will hold a memorial and celebration of life in Bridger during the town’s yearly founding day celebration, Jim Bridger Days, honoring his memory in the heart of his hometown.
