Nancy Leola Oltrogge

Nancy Leola Oltrogge entered this world on November 4, 1952 with her twin brother Neil. The daughter of Bernard and Betty Lou Oltrogge and sister to Timothy, Patrick, Neil and Douglas, sister to Mary Lou, Nanette, and Gwen. Nancy was raised in Ballantine, Montana and lived her life there surrounded by her family. She passed away in Missoula, Montana on the evening of October 29th with family holding her hands praying with her and celebrating her peaceful passage after an extended illness.

Nancy graduated from Huntley Project Schools in 1971. She spent her life as a caregiver. Nancy’s greatest enjoyment in life was visiting with family and friends, spending time at picnics, holiday gatherings, and birthdays, and she especially enjoyed time spent taking her niece’s and nephews on twilight drives she called “night frights”. Her friendships reached around the world, and as close as the morning coffee gathering and bible study that filled her life with friendship and camaraderie.

Nancy was a vivacious, kind woman who will be missed by all who loved her. We will miss her laughter and the wonderful quirky sense of humor she brought into our lives.

Nancy is preceded in death by her loving grand parents Leola and Wiley Rorex, parents Bernard and Betty Lou Oltrogge, brothers Timothy, and Patrick, and half-sister Mary Lou Feller. She is survived by brothers Neil, Douglas (Rita), sisters Nanette Oltrogge and Gwen Heimer and her nieces and nephews; Sarah Cooper (Dogan Lea), Jakob, Hannah, Kody. Neil Oltrogge (Joey) Jayden, Bookelyn, Brylee, Douglas Oltrogge (Denie) Violet, Leola, Sophia. Mike Flamm (Devon) Maddie, Macie. Jessica Oltrogge (Robert Wilmot), Elizabeth Oltrogge (Troy Vanderlinde) , Rebecca (Matt) Wilson Dante, Victor, and Nathan Oltrogge.

Services will be held Friday November 15th at 10:00 am at  Worden Open Bible church with internment at Pleasant View cemetery in Ballantine, MT.  following please join family and friends for a celebration of  Nancy’s life and pot luck at Homesteader Hall.

  1. My true condolences to the whole Oltrogge family. I was just now told and I am truly sorry for your loss. I did not get to know her tho I knew some of her special family. From what I read I wish I was fortunate to have known her as well. My prayer are with you Neil, Doug, and Rita. Your kids as well. I can’t recall their names anymore. This memory thing isn’t getting better with age either. Love and Prayers guys.
