M. John Sjostrom, passed away on August 1, 2019, at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born on May 30, 1943, in Custer, Montana to Leo and Hilda Sjostrom. John met the love of his life Alice Dorn in Hardin, Montana in 1960. John and Alice were married in 1962 and have been devoted to one another for the past 57 years. John and Alice raised 3 children, Dudley, Tina and Darren on the family ranch that he owned and operated since 1965. John will be remembered for always being a hardworking, honest person who greatly loved his family. John and Alice loved sitting on their patio watching the river go by. John always enjoyed camping with his children and their friends. John loved being in the outdoors, his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, artifact hunting and spending time with his family on the ranch.
John in survived by his wife Alice, son Dudley (Melanie), daughter Tina (Neil), granddaughters Kristina (Zane), Katlynn (Steven) and numerous others along with 3 great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and son Darren. John will greatly be missed and forever loved.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wed., August 7, 2019, at the Custer Congregational Church. Cremation has taken place and a private burial ceremony will take place at a later date. A special thank you to all the Staff at Riverstone Hospice.
