Linda Gail Betts Schmidt, 68, went to join her heavenly father on June 1, 2024. Born to Eugene and Frances Betts on April 14, 1956, she was later joined with three younger sisters, commonly known as the Betts Girls. Linda attended and graduated from Shepherd High School then went on to attend Vocational School. She held numerus jobs including cooking, bartending, and lastly working in the green house at Billings Hardware.

She met Dave Schmidt in 1986 and married the love of her life on May 26, 1990. They enjoyed traveling and playing pool. They also loved their special puppy, Sleepy Dog, who was like their child. Sadly, she lost Dave to cancer in 2012. She met her companion David McBride in 2013 and they have enjoyed some great adventures including ice fishing and the outdoors at his place in Lavina. His devotion to helping her this past year is greatly appreciated.

Linda loved making cakes earlier in life, and she truly enjoyed working in the green house with all the beautiful plants and flowers. She had a green thumb, and loved to watch things grow.

Linda was a people person. She had lots of friends and loved talking to all kinds of people.

She loved special friends, Vern and Jan Brost, and was always so happy when she was able to attend Bible Study at their house.

Although Linda had no children of her own, she loved her family! She treasured her nieces and nephews, and their growing families! She loved to attend family gatherings, and her laughter was contagious.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. Surviving family members include her sisters, Sandra and husband Curtis Schlosser and their three children, Eugene (Becca) Schlosser, Austin (Ashley) Schlosser, and Kayla (Ray) Longstreth; her sister LaDonna and husband Mark Grotbo and their two children, Brice and Kelby Grotbo; and her sister Kelly and husband Bart Heiken and their daughter, Isabell Heiken.

Linda’s laughter will be greatly missed by us all. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Shepherd Bible Church at 2 pm, 5622 Chicago Road. We request that everyone wear bright colors, as that is what she would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to the Shepherd Bible Church, 5622 Chicago Rd., Shepherd, MT 59079, or the Montana Youth Diabetes Alliance, MYDA, PO Box 104, Columbia Falls, MT 59912, or Special Olympics of Montana, 710 1st Ave. North, Great Falls, MT 59401 or charity of your choice.
