The NOVA Center for the Performing Arts will be implementing their second live parking lot performance on August 9th. The Live Drive in Theater event will be held on NOVA’s west side parking lot. The audience members will be able to enjoy the performance form the comfort of their own cars, pickup truck beds, and chairs.
The live performance will feature music from “Met to Broadway” and favorite hits from various past NOVA Center productions. All of the cast members, singers, and actors are volunteers, so a free-will offering will be available at the event. “We are raising funds to keep NOVA Center ‘in the Back’ while the theater is dark,” stated Managing Producer, Dodie Rife.
Concessions and prepackaged snacks will be available for purchase as for guests. Masks will be required any time a person is outside of their vehicles, hand sanitizer will be available, and only every other parking space will be utilized. Along with this, the performers will be on platforms and will utilize microphones with an accompanist.
“We miss live performance. This is one way to enjoy our fine actors and singer while remaining safe,” said Rife. “See you Sunday, 2 PM August 9th at NOVA center.”
