The next step in the development of the Lockwood TEDD (Targeted Economic Development District) is to identify what projects should first be pursued in the development of the district.
KLJ, a Billings engineering firm, is being engaged by Big Sky Economic Development (BSED) to assist in the process of gathering input from TEDD property owners and determine potential costs and a budget to move forward in the development of the industrial development park that has been created at the corner of Johnson Lane and Interstate I-90.
BSED officials brought the proposal to Yellowstone County Commissioners last week to pay KLJ $17,700 to conduct two three-hour workshops, facilitate 18 one-on-one interviews with landowners, develop a budget and funding matrix, for one or two projects, draft a strategic plan and submit a final plan.
County Commissioners approved the KLJ agreement as part of the consent agenda of their meeting on Monday, March 25.
