Multipurpose Building Moving Forward and Longtime Huntley Project District Clerk Retires After 45 Years

At Huntley Project School District’s monthly meeting board members discussed the next steps for the proposed multipurpose building to be built on campus. Beforehand, the board accepted District Clerk Rita Huck’s retirement letter. Huck has served the district for the last 45 years and the board was quick to thank her for contributions to the district over those many years. Huck started at Huntley as the Elementary Secretary Assistant Clerk back in 1979 and stayed there for 22 years before taking on the district clerk position.

Huck has been responsible for many vital duties at Huntley as the district clerk the last 23 years including state and federal reporting, payroll, claims, ordering, and many more duties. “Whatever falls on the plate gets done,” stated Huck. The school district will interview applicants for the district clerk position and hire one in January. Huck will be staying on in her position until August of 2025 to provide a roughly six-month transition period for the new clerk. Huck states that she has a few plans to travel and visit grandkids once she has officially retired next year. Huck stated, “It’s been a great ride.”

After accepting Huck’s retirement letter the Board of Trustees approved a plan for the designing and planning of a new multipurpose building.
