Montana Gets Low Distancing Grade

As government entities are mandating that citizens remain home as much as possible as a means to reduce the spread of COVID-19, a number of different organizations have conducted studies about which states are complying the best.

Based on data gathered from the movements of tens of millions of mobile phones, they have monitored states and counties to determine who are doing the best in social distancing.

The entire United States received a “C” grade, with best performing states being the more populous states, including Pennsylvania, Texas, Nevada, New Jersey, and New York.

Montana, like most other low population states, didn’t fare too well in those studies. Given the great distances between potential destinations, it shouldn’t be too surprising that the worst states also included Idaho, both Dakotas, and Wyoming. These also, however, tend to be states with the lowest infection and death rates.
