Dear Editor:
Because I spent over 20 years in the military, I am covered by Tricare health insurance, as is my wife. Because I am also over 65 years old, I am also covered by Medicare. My Tricare health coverage is superior to other veterans who did not serve for 20 years in the military. I think I am fortunate to have Medicare and Tricare. However my health care benefits do not compare favorably at all to what members of Congress, their families and, I understand, some of their staff members are entitled to. These benefits also follow them into retirement.
I would like to see politicians such as Jon Tester, who always say they are so supportive of our veterans, offer legislation that would offer our veterans health care benefits comparable to what he receives personally. I am sure this will never happen!
