Marijuana Will be on the Ballot this Spring

Whether Yellowstone County voters want the production and sale of marijuana in Yellowstone County will be on the ballot this spring – May 4.

Following a public hearing on Tuesday, Yellowstone County Commissioners voted unanimously to place all aspects of the production and sale of “recreational” marijuana on the ballot to give citizens an opportunity to reverse their vote on the initiative that made it legal. All registered voters in the county may vote on the issue, including those within municipal boundaries.

The ballot issue impacts only recreational marijuana. It will not affect the current laws and regulations of medical marijuana.

If voters reject the production and sale of marijuana, it will render moot the earlier election in the City of Billings, which prohibited its dispensing or sale.
