Makes Private Education Look like a No-Brainer.

Dear Editor,

In so far as Daylis Stadium goes, I don’t know what is more discouraging – its current condition or the fact that school district 2 was allowed to let this happen!

One needs to look no further than Lockwood or Laurel – two class “A” schools – for better facilities hosting track meets and football games. Billings Central plays at the Rocky Bowl (good call!). Meanwhile, the three home class “AA” schools, with the help of a donated scoreboard and playing field, get closed bleachers. Not to mention moldy dressing rooms. Makes me think someone – who knows-–said something – that struck a nerve – during the recent East-West Shrine game.

And speaking of games, closing the grandstands right before the Big Sky State Games and upcoming football games is, in itself, a game. Attention, please?

What’s good for SD2 is not always good for the rest of the city of Billings. Closing neighborhood schools (Rimrock, North Park, Garfield, Lincoln Jr., Washington) is just another example.

Makes private education look like a no-brainer.

Sincerely,

Paul Kober
