Lockwood Shooting Investigation Ongoing

On Friday, Aug. 7th around 2:30 in the afternoon, a shooting was reported on Noblewood Drive in Lockwood. Yellowstone County Sheriff’s deputies responded to find a 60-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, and is still alive as of Tuesday the 11th.

The deputies had a portion of the neighborhood blocked off in order to speak with witnesses, but no one has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing and will be handed over to county attorney’s office in order to determine whether or not charges will be filed in the case.

It’s reported that the shooting resulted from an escalated disagreement between a homeowner and a construction worker who was accused of speeding in the neighborhood. The homeowner was said to have produced a gun and shot the construction worker multiple times.

“We do not have any names to report right now,” stated Yellowstone County Sheriff, Mike Linder. While there is a person in custody, the possibility of self-defense is still being considered.

More information will follow as the investigation is ongoing.
