Later this month, Senator John Thune will make his way to the Last Best State. Specific dates and locations have not yet been announced, but he will be appearing at events in support of Tim Sheehy in his race against Jon Tester.
Thune, the senior Senator from South Dakota, is considered to be one of the main contenders to replace Mitch McConnell as the leader of the Republican party. Thune has raised nearly $30 million in support of Republican candidates for U.S. Senate this cycle.
Thune will become one of several big-name Republicans to have visited the state in support of Sheehy, including Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Senator Tom Cotton, and, of course, former President Donald Trump.
