Homesteader Days is a Go!

The coronavirus pandemic has closed hundreds of businesses and events across the country. However, the popular Homesteader Days, hosted by the Huntley Project Lion’s Club, is moving forward, to the delight of the locals. The event coordinator, Bethany Hein commented, “Our goal is to provide another great event with social responsibility and safety for all at the forefront of our planning. Personal accountability for all parties is important for us to have a successful event.”

Despite some required alterations to the proceedings of the event, one can still expect to have a great time. The forecast according to the National Weather Service is predicted to be mostly sunny and warm. Friday will see three live performances by various popular artists, and Saturday will function largely the same as the other years. “The run, parade, games in the park, Fun on the Farm, food vendors, teen dance, and evening entertainment will stay on the schedule,” stated Hein. Unfortunately, events such as the Craft Fair and the Pig Race have been removed.

During this time, it’s important to have points of encouragement for the community. Many people have been anticipating the Homesteader Days event, and they are proud to be moving forward safely. If anyone is looking for the ability to go out and enjoy some sun, fun, food, and music, Homesteader Days is an excellent option.
