Dear Editor,
Webster’s dictionary defines a hero as one who displays great courage and self-sacrifice for the greater good. In our life we hear of many types of heroes; soldiers, fireman, astronauts, policemen, doctors, nurses. Heroes are not born, they are made by the circumstances they choose to walk into. In our community we have some unsung heroes I would like to bring your attention to. They are the men and women of the Worden-Huntley fire station and rescue. I have personally experienced on a number of occaions their professionalism and dedication to their trade. Day or night, they are a beacon of hope, and a light for others to follow. These volunteers are the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to meet the task of those in need led by their chief Lance Taylor. With great gratitude my thanks to all. You do make a difference.
