A local group entitled Stop The Shepherd Landfill has filed a lawsuit in Yellowstone County District Court challenging a license recently issued by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to Pacific Steel and Recycling that was finalized on 6/11/24. The group is opposing a 90-acre landfill of Auto Shredder Residue that would be placed north of Billings in the Shepherd area.
