Freedom and Opportunity Choked to Death

Dear Editor,

What is the American Dream?  Simply stated it is, “Freedom and Opportunity.”  The key to our dream is that freedom and opportunity are tied together with the word and.

That is to say, freedom without opportunity isn’t freedom and opportunity without the freedom to exercise that opportunity isn’t opportunity.  In the name of safety, equality, climate, etc., etc., we have slowly choked the American Dream to near death.

Many of us grew up drinking raw milk.  A finished 2X4 now must be called by another name.  Our cars would get more miles per gallon if we weren’t forced to burn ethanol in our gas.  We could feed more of the world’s population if we weren’t forced to turn our food into ethanol.  A series of novels could be easily written on regulations.

We have become so accustomed to regulations, to being told what to do and think, that one more order is just one more order we blindly follow.  Our forefathers wouldn’t have done so.  We shouldn’t do so either.  Montana Code Annotated 13-19-104 specifically states that a regularly scheduled federal, state, or county election may not be conducted by mail ballot.  The governor’s mail ballot and mask directives conflict… unless masks magically can’t work at the polling booth?

Such is the way of the Democrat party.  We are smart enough to know when a dog is piddling on our leg.  It is time to clean house. Vote Steve Daines for US Senator and retire the governor.
