Five Things I Miss Growing Up as a Kid

Dear Editor,

     Not trying to be nostalgic, but for the sake of humility, here are five things I miss growing up as a kid:

            – sonic booms

            – passenger travel by train

            – bottles of pop (and the refund)

            – phone booths

            – customer (personal) service.

    Now that I’m rapidly getting old, here are five things I miss after “growing up”:

            – customer (personal) service

            – pride in doing a job well done

            – work ethic

            – tradition, if not history.

Anyway, there it is for what it’s worth.

     Spring has sprung!
