Counterfeit money and concerns are raising eyebrows as more and more Worden businesses and individuals report instances to the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office due to similar-looking $100 bills that are appearing around town, outside of businesses and even on the street.
Two weeks ago, Debbie Corman, bartender at Miller’s Dark horse & Saloon found a $100 bill laying on the street early in the morning that looked exactly like a $100 bill but after looking at it and feeling the material, knew that was counterfeit because she knew the difference as a bartender. She immediately took the counterfeit money inside and gave it to the owner who reported it to sheriff’s deputies.
Jolene Johannes, owner and hair stylist at JJ’s Hair Fashion in Worden, told the Yellowstone County News Monday that she also encountered a fake $100 bill when a customer stopped by her business and let her know that someone lost some money outside next to her car and turned it into her in case they asked about it.
