Enjoy the Freedom You Have

Dear Editor,

Recent trips to Mt. Rushmore and the Oregon coast, as well as observing Memorial Day this last weekend has me appreciating our land of the free, and home of the brave.  I realize that I have been guilty of taking our freedoms for granted.

Mt. Rushmore reminds us of our history of freedom and opportunity, and Oregon reminds us of what happens when we lose it.  Oregon, of course, has possibly the weirdest governance of our union, and the people reflect it.  Heavy top-down Democrat leadership has her people masked up, fearful, living in tent cities all over, or burning down their cities and receiving mandate after mandate.

Now their governor wants to prohibit her citizens from attending churches (which are still mostly closed) unless they have proof of an experimental vaccine.  My sense of freedom upon returning to Montana was noticeable.  It was highlighted by attending the Toby Keith concert at the Metra.  We were all there enjoying the freedom to have a good time once again. I am grateful to live in a state where the voters decided the common-sense governance of Greg Gianforte, Kristin Juras, Austin Knudson, Elsie Arnetzn, Christy Jacobsen, Troy Downing, Matt Rosendale as well as our Republican legislators was what Montanans needed to restore the balance of safety and freedom. It’s good to be home!
