The well-known discount store chain, Dollar General, currently being built on Highway 312 in Shepherd is scheduled to open mid to late November. Project Manager Bill Bache stated the project is on schedule and the certificate of occupancy should be received October 7. Shelving and refrigeration systems should be nearing completion around November 11 and the store is slated to open later in the month. Dollar General currently has more than 19,000 stores in the contiguous US and Mexico offering discounted merchandise from national name brands.
