Dear Editor,
Although I am a conservative, or at least I used to think I was before my Republican Party became the Cult of Trump, I suppose the former newsman in me prevails in welcoming the relatively recent addition of the David Crisp columns in the Yellowstone County News.
Krayton Kerns used to be the only regular columnist, and most letters to the editor of YCN come from the political right, so Crisp’s “progressive” opinions provide some much needed and thought-provoking balance. Since he is a longtime professional journalist by trade, they are always well-written and often clever as well. This is not to say that I agree with him since I usually don’t, but he has a point of view which ought to be read and considered. It helps the paper to be truly a source of news rather than indoctrination.
My writing this short letter is not a case of us Davids sticking together. There are too many of us for that.
