Two of the companies that are likely to submit proposals to manage MetraPark have asked for more time to prepare their proposals – a request that the county commissioners put on the agenda for next week. indicating a willingness to extend it by two weeks. The deadline is currently Feb. 4.
Commissioner Don Jones said that he believes the more time they have to put their proposals together the more information the commissioners will get.
However, Jeana Lervick, chief deputy county attorney, said that she usually advises against such altering of requests for proposal (RFP) because that “opens the door unnecessarily” for possible legal challenges. It would be better “to let it play out,” and issue another request.
