Clerk Resigns at Lockwood to Accept SD2 Position

An award of appreciation was presented to Lockwood School Clerk and Business Manager Laurie Kvamme by board members at their meeting on Tuesday evening.

Kvamme has resigned her position, after 17 years, to accept the position of Chief Financial Officer of Billings School District 2.           

Superintendent Don Christman urged the board to approve a revision in the roles of staff and of job descriptions to better organize the position of School Clerk and Business Manager. He explained that over the years as different needs have arisen, they were assigned in a rather arbitrary fashion with little consistently.

Kvamme told the board that she has been more involved in “financials” than most School Clerks.

The board supported Christman’s recommendation and approved job descriptions for two other staff persons that better organize and divide the many tasks. Those positions are for a Payroll Clerk and an Assistant Business Manager who will work under the direction of the School Clerk and in tandem with the Clerk with some overlap, so that everyone will have an understanding of all duties in case of an emergency and they have to assume the duties.

Lisa Muilenburg will be the Payroll Clerk and DeeAnn Nielsen will be the Assistant Business Manager.
