The Billings Public Library will once again be open to the public beginning on February 1, 2021. The hours of the library will be from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Visits will be limited to 30 minutes per patron. Seven computers will be available to the public for 30-minute sessions which cannot be renewed. Special programs will only be available online, and the archives, tech lab, study rooms, community room, genealogy room, and Yellowstone board room are not accessible to the public at this time. Furniture is also unavailable for patron use.
Curbside services will continue on weekdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the bookmobile, homebound, and senior outreach services will continue under the current operations. The Café will also be reopened. All library patrons and staff are still required to wear masks inside the library.
“This plan is thorough, practical, and achieves the goals of serving the public while ensuring the safety of staff and those who utilize the facility,” said Library Director Gavin Woltjer. He added, “In the event that the virus spikes again in the County, management will evaluate operational modalities and consult health officials as we have throughout the pandemic. If changes need to occur, we will do our best to communicate these changes with the public and our community partners as soon as possible.”
