Billings Bypass Railroad Bridge Nearing Completion

Last week contractors working on the Billings Bypass Railroad Bridge started their final steps on the bridge that will connect Lockwood to the newly built Yellowstone River Bridge. According to District Administrator Michael Taylor, the contractor Wadsworth Brothers Construction will be pouring its final concrete for the bridge deck on October 24. The concrete deck will then need to cure for 30 days before the contractor will be able to groove the deck and install guardrails.

Billings Bypass Project that will create an arterial roadway connecting the Lockwood community with the Billings Heights. More specifically the Billings Bypass Project will ultimately connect the Lockwood Johnson Lane Interchange on Interstate 90 with the Old Highway 312/Highway 87 intersection in the Billings Heights. The Five Mile Road recently completed in the last couple years connects the Yellowstone River Bridge to Highway 312.   With the completion of the Yellowstone River Bridge and the Five Mile Road, the anticipated completion of the railroad bridge marks a milestone in the project. Members of the public will soon be able to benefit from a project that is years in the making.
