Artwalk heralds coming of Spring

“Summer Day on the High Plains” by Jim Hagstrom
showing at One Source Lighting

Call your friends, grab a jacket and come downtown for the ArtWalk on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5 – 9 p.m. It has been a long, cold winter, and we are ready to bid farewill to snow and icy streets and greet warm weather.

For 25 years, ArtWalk has focused on the ever-increasing community of artists, craftsmen, galleries and museums that support fine arts in Billings and our region.  It’s grown from a handful of Montana Avenue galleries in 1994 to a “not-to-miss” event reaching across downtown Billings.

In keeping with its long-standing tradition, all ArtWalk events are free.  Many participating sites offer music and refreshments.  Featured artists attend to greet visitors and discuss their art and the creative process.

Thirty ArtWalk Season Members have committed to participating for all six ArtWalk events in the 25th Season.  On Montana Avenue, new Season Members include Durden Gallery and Western Heritage Center.  On North 29th Street, four new Season Members include A & E Architects, Wise Wonders  Children’s Museum, One Source Lighting Studio and Toad and Willow.

Three One-time Participants adding to the April ArtWalk include Mann Mortgage, Billings Public Library and Jack Griffin’s display of light and shadow on the south exterior wall of the Alberta Bair Theater.

Subsequent ArtWalk events are scheduled for the first Fridays of June, August, October, and December 2019 and February 2020.

More information about April ArtWalk, including maps, gallery notes, and photos, can be found at artwalkbillings.com, billings365.com, and Facebook@billingsartwalk. Printed maps are available at all participating sites on ArtWalk nights.
