Dear Editor,
Kudos for a job well done on the December 30 issue–Lives of Yellowstone County. You chose important people from a large area — both in space and time — and you chose well. I enjoyed reading the mini biographies of all these selfless people who made our community so much better.
My family was honored when you requested a biography on my stepfather, Bill Glaser, and I happily complied with the request. The placement of his picture on the front of the paper — above the fold — delighted me, and the placement of his biography at the top of page 11 also pleased me… as did your using the photo I had identified as my all-time favorite photo. In fact, the only thing that displeased me, and it displeased me quite a bit, was the total mistake made by whoever created the bio’s title. There is not ONE WORD in the bio about “fly fishing” … those two words should have read “Firefighting” … And the placement of them totally ruins clipping the piece from the paper and framing it nicely. That said, I spent 20 years as Pat Goggins’ editor, so I know unfortunate mistakes get made.
Again, thanks for including Bill. He belonged there, and I’m sure wherever he is, he was pleased by being included.
