Dear Editor,
I saw a sign flash on a casino billboard “Hunger can happen to anyone.” Yes, it can, if you are a person of addictions.
Going to a bar/casino is like investing in the stock market: If you have money you don’t need or are not afraid to lose, fine. But to go to drown your sorrows or stress or win big to meet expenses, not a good idea. First rule of gambling: “The house always wins.” It reminds me of a Roger Miller song, “Six rounds bought, I bought five, spent the groceries and half the rent.”
When I first saw “ATM inside”, I thought the ATM needs to be two hundred feet from the building. One may get a decent meal at a bar/casino, but one still needs to watch themselves.
