Obituary: Everett Henry Noonkester

Everett Henry Noonkester

Everett Henry Noonkester, entered this world on October 23, 1929, to a loving welcome by his parents Audrey (Wordsworth) Noonkester and Archie Stiles Noonkester in Nelogney, Oklahoma. Everett (Conk) was the second eldest child of seven.

The Noonkester family moved from Oklahoma to California during the war to work in the shipyards. While living in Clovis, California, Everett met the love of his life Margaret Louise Reed. After a three- year courtship they married February 12, 1950, in Carson City, Nevada, a covenant of marriage that blossomed for nearly 70 years. On December 3, 2019, Margaret passed from this earth to be joined with their two sons, Everett Paul Noonkester and Lester Noonkester.

Everett was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by family and friends for his faith, wisdom, music and kindness towards those in need. Mere words cannot honor this good man nor adequately describe the impact Everett had on the lives of so many people, past, present and future.

Everett’s life will be celebrated Thursday, September 3 at the Smith Funeral Home located at 925 South 27th Street at 11:30 AM, and he will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Laurel Veterans’ Cemetery.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care received from the staff at Roundup Memorial Nursing Home and a special thank you to Connie, Judy, Toni and Jessica for the extra love given to Everett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to P.A.R Ministries
