On Thursday, Aug. 6th, a court hearing commenced with the goal of establishing the legality of a drainage trench dug on the Donnes property that left water running across the neighboring Flann property.
Though the construction of the Shepherd Gravel pit has been temporarily halted, a flurry of court hearings has occurred in regards to the Flann and Donnes families, and it is all hinging on a trench and the water therein.
At the court hearing, a witness hydrologist from the defending Donnes family was called to give her expert opinion as to the technicalities of the water movements. The witness, was electronically casted in via a video communication platform. This led to some occasional communication difficulties due to insufficient WIFI signal, but the hearing was able to continue relatively smoothly.
