Obituary: Wrye Spaulding

Wrye Spaulding

Columbus – Wrye Spaulding crossed over to a higher plane, to join those who have gone before him on June 13, 2021.  Wrye was born to Lauren Spaulding and Barbara Eckard Spaulding on July 29, 1958.

Wrye owned and ran his own mechanic shop for many years, and was a mechanic for UPS for several years. He was a certified ASE mechanic through General Motors.  He was very proud of his cars.

Wrye was one of the most compassionate and caring people you could have ever known; he had a great love for family.  He was an amazing son, great brother, and adventurous uncle. He was endeared to his nieces and nephews because he accepted each of them for who they are.  Wrye liked gardening, kids, dogs, car races, derbies, auctions and Junqueing.

His parents Lauren and Barbara, his brother Kevin, his sisters Helen Pally and Ruby Anderson preceded him in death.

His sisters Lauren (Don) Woodhouse, Lois (Milt) McQuarrie and Leabeth (Louis) Daviau, and brothers Lyle Spaulding, and Lloyd Spaulding survive him. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. He had developed a great relationship with his nephew John Villa.

“Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.” (John Wayne)

His dogs Misty and Mork also survive Wrye. If you would like to make a Memorial Donation, please send it to your local animal shelter.

Memorial services will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Belfry cemetery. There will be a pot luck reception at the Belfry senior center after the service.
