Obituary: Richard Seder

Richard Seder, 81, of Ballantine, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, died peacefully December 27, 2019 in Billings.  He was born November 1, 1938 in Dayton, Wyoming to Henry and Katherine (Lehman) Seder.  Richard attended and graduated from Hardin High School.  In March of 1958, He married Patricia Stahley and together they raised four children.  Richard and Pat farmed and ranched in the Yellowstone Valley finally making their home on the family farm in Ballantine.  Richard was known for his hard work ethic and love of the land.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Patricia; children Richard (Kay) Seder, Beverly (Mike) Durgan, Greg (Ronda) Seder and Norma (Orville) Britton; grandchildren Katrina Britton, Danielle (Brett) Sheeley, Leighton Seder and Sydni Seder and a great-grandchild James Sheeley; brothers Robert (Betty), Jerry (Silvia); a sister Marian (Bob) Rudland and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be 2:00 pm – 9:00pm Thursday at the funeral chapel.  A Graveside Committal Service will be 10:00 am Friday January 3, 2020 at Laurel Cemetery, followed by Celebration of Richard’s life at 1:00 pm held at the Bethlehem Congregational Church in Worden.  The family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent Hospital for the special care they gave to Richard.  Memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation or the charity of your choice.
