Rule of law vs. morality

Dear Editor,

I believe it was in one of my religion classes in high school that I learned there are two kinds of law. There are laws that are morality based such as laws against murder and stealing. Then there are laws which are passed to regulate people’s activities which are not morality based. read more

Hypocrisy of the Wolf

Dear Editor,

I am not at all surprised at the hypocrisy of Mr. Wolf.

He says that PRESIDENT “Trump is not playing with all his marbles.” Then goes on to disparage anyone that might agree with the President, calling them ‘semi-Americans’, then insults the President one more time, just like they do in 2nd grade. In the same paragraph he laments that anyone would attempt to drive a wedge between D’s and R’s. read more

Smells like an apology owed

Dear Editor,

Of all the ordure you’ve cast at American and Yellowstone County’s Republican voters, you’ve really outdone yourself on the YCN May-03-2019 comment.  You call us “often thoughtless and if they were stupid.”  Peter Strzok “smells us” in Walmart when he drives by one, so I’m assuming, Carl Wolf, that you can smell the likes of me and other YCN subscribers, as many of us shop there… shop in a great American success story – Walmart.  Maybe you don’t shop there for fear of the smell.

You owe Americans and YCN readers an apology for your last comment, and for the YCN not to demand your apology, is condoning your excrement to Americans and YCN readers!  I feel that should YCN continue to allow you to use such verbiage for your continued insults for voters, some of YCN readers are going to get fed up with this kind of trash and may cancel their subscription.  Even though YCN readers have responded to your continued excrement, it’s done with levity and respect… an attribute you do not possess.

Let the Buffalo roam

Dear Editor,

Our government officials continue to prioritize private interests over public opinion. Keeping bison out of Montana is a spineless idea that only benefits private ranchers. Officials claim that bison can transmit brucellosis – a disease that can cause cattle to abort fetuses – although there has never been any documented evidence of a transmission in the wild. We should allow bison to freely roam throughout Montana because it would increase visitor spending, reduce tax dollar expenditure, and enhance the ecosystem. Limiting bison to a small area of Yellowstone National Park is not only unnatural and unfair, but ultimately stifles economic growth. The public’s desire to see this animal unrestricted and sovereign again should not be overshadowed by influence of special interests.
