Aldrich to Head Elections Department

by Evelyn Pyburn

Yellowstone County Commissioners have named a new director of the Yellowstone County Elections Department – Katherine “Ginger” Aldrich of Helena. She will begin her new job on November 1.

The selection was made from thirteen applications the commissioners received, with most of them coming from outside Montana, according to Commissioner Denis Pitman. They narrowed the field down to three, said Pitman, before doing interviews to make their choice.

Aldrich has been a Senior Legislature Attorney. In fact, in the past, whenever Yellowstone County has had questions about the electoral process it has been with Aldrich that they consulted, said Pitman, which makes them quite pleased at being able to hire her for the county’s election department.

Aldrich is originally from Billings.

She is filling the positon left vacant with the resignation of Bret Rutherford last month.
